James Atebe is a retired Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) specialized in governance, leadership and public administration including financial and human resources management. In addition, Mr. Atebe is experienced in strategic, land use and economic development planning and approval processes.
Mr. Atebe also has approximately twelve (12) years of experience in municipal political leadership including six (6) years of experience as the Mayor of the City of Mission, British Columbia. Mr. Atebe’s experience also include over twenty-five years in public administration with First Nations communities and other levels of government.
Mr. Atebe has a Bachelor of Arts degree in geography from University of Calgary, Alberta, and master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Mr. Atebe has experience participating in several community organizations in varying capacities including committee memberships as well as serving as a director on several boards. Some of these organizations include the City of Mission, City of Chilliwack Community Committees, the University of the Fraser Valley, the Fraser Valley Regional District, and Lower Mainland Local Government Association Committees.
